Pathway

Atobe stared at the fork in the road before him. One path was clear-cut and easy - it was the way his parents had told him to go, the way he'd been groomed since birth to follow. The other path was harder to see...because it shone so brightly. He didn't know what was down that road, but it was certainly filled with light.
The choice was easy for Atobe. He had never cared about his parents' path anyway. He wanted a road of his own; he deserved a road of his own.
So with one foot in front of the other, he started down the path of light.
It had many glorious things. Some things down the road were wonderful, some things were painful, but it was all beautiful. It suited him.
His road didn't lead to the house his parents had built for him, but it did lean him home. A home he built for himself, where all his bittersweet travels were his to share with the passenger of his own choosing.
This was Atobe Keigo's road, and it lead to his own home.
